Attorney-at-Law, Founder of Etude Bandhu
Professional Profile
Situated in the heart of Port Louis, beside the new Supreme Court building, Etude Bandhu – Attorney-at-Law was founded by Me. Anandhi Singh Sharma Devi Bandhu, an attorney recognised for her integrity, strategic advocacy, and unwavering commitment to justice.
Me. Bandhu read law at the University of Mauritius, where she distinguished herself academically, and later topped the Mauritian Bar Examinations (Attorney’s Stream), ranking second overall. She went on to practice with a prominent law firm, where she headed both the Corporate and Intellectual Property teams. After several years of practice and leadership in high-stakes matters, she established her own firm, Etude Bandhu, to provide clients with independent, personalised, and results-driven legal representation.
Practice Experience
Her experience covers a wide range of practice areas, including:
Family Law – divorce, custody, and alimony.
Succession & Property – inheritance claims, land conflicts, and boundary disputes.
Corporate & Commercial Litigation – shareholder disputes, high-value commercial claims, and contract enforcement.
Intellectual Property – trademark registration, renewals, and litigation.
Civil & Criminal Appeals – extensive appellate work before the Supreme Court of Mauritius.
International & Cross-Border Matters – multi-jurisdictional disputes and enforcement of foreign judgments.
Me. Bandhu has been entrusted with high-profile litigation, including cases involving claims of several billions of rupees. She appears regularly before the Supreme Court of Mauritius as well as the subordinate courts, handling both trial and appellate advocacy.
Professional Standing
She is a proud member of the Mauritius Law Society, and remains deeply committed to upholding the highest standards of the profession. Beyond her legal practice, she also contributes to the legal community by mentoring aspiring lawyers in preparation for the Vocational Legal Education (CVLE) examinations.
Philosophy & Passion
For Me. Bandhu, law is not simply about handling files — it is about defending people, their rights, and their futures. Every brief entrusted to her is treated as a cause, pursued with rigour, discretion, and conviction.
Outside her professional role, she is equally dedicated to her lifelong passion: rescuing and rehoming stray and abandoned dogs. This commitment reflects the same values that guide her legal practice — compassion, responsibility, and advocacy for the vulnerable.
